An early spring backyard scene in zone 5b, with a small collection of neatly arranged seed trays and biodegradable pots on a simple wooden potting bench against a cedar fence. Dark, moist potting mix fills each cell, and tiny green seedlings of lettuce, basil, and marigolds just begin to emerge, some still wearing fragments of seed coats. A clean, well-used hand fork and pruners rest beside a terracotta pot, soil dusting their metal surfaces. Soft morning light slants in from the left, casting delicate shadows and catching the fine texture of the wood grain. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle with moderate depth of field, creating a calm, contemplative mood that emphasizes gentle learning and the quiet anticipation of growth.

Anna’s Story

Gardening relaxes me. My brain gets a break and is able to concentrate on the mission of whatever the day brings.

I’ve been gardening since Spring 2019. Before then, it didn’t interest me much even though my mom is an avid gardener. When we moved to our home with a small but decent size back yard, I started to dip a bit into the dirt and gardening world. The worms did gross me out in the beginning, but now i just despise grubs!

My inspiration typically comes from Garden Answer. I watch the episodes on Sunday mornings while enjoying my coffee.

Thanks for visiting my site and hope you find something useful that gives you confidence to garden in your own space!
