Why I Chose a Vego Garden Raised Bed—and Why You Might Too

Four years ago, I was gifted a round and an oval raised garden bed. I’m not sure who the manufacturer and brand was. They’re in great shape and look as new.

This fall I’m going to plant garlic and learned it needs full sun over winter. This meant it was time to buy another raised bed.

When I decided to take the plunge, I researched raised bed options for weeks. I kept coming back to the Vego Garden system. I’ve already used their product (hose reel) so trust has been established. There’s I picked the 10 in 1 modular design. What really sold me, though, was the promise of assembly without special tools. I’m not intimidated by a project, but I also didn’t want to spend an afternoon with complicated hardware. The Vego bed uses a corner bracket system that’s genuinely intuitive, and the galvanized steel is built to last through many seasons in our zone 5b climate.

It came in a rather small box, but all parts were there.

I’m planning on purchasing 2nd one in the spring as I only need one at this time for the garlic.

If you’ve been thinking about a raised bed but feeling hesitant, I want to tell you something I wish someone had told me earlier: you don’t need to build the garden of your dreams all at once. One Vego bed is enough. One bed can teach you so much about how your space works, what plants you actually love growing, and what success feels like. Start small, choose quality, and give yourself permission to go slow and learn as you grow. Your future garden self will thank you.
